“ If there is a will there is a way… A young lady from the Jordan Valley who has proven to the world that hard work pays."

Nisreen started her journey with Zara in 1999 when she was 22 years old. Her future, just like any young female living in Al Ghour at that time was outlined for her. The concept of tourism and hospitality and what it meant for a female to work at a hotel was not an option.

As a young woman who was never exposed to diverse nationalities and who made up in charming smiles what she lacked in communication and English language skills, Nisreen climbed her way up by learning to engage in conversations with hotel customers until she overcame her apprehension of public speaking and became comfortable in dealing with people around her.

On her way to her dream, Nisreen faced many challenges and setbacks, which for many could have been the beginning of an end of a promising future. However, with her persistence and determination, Nisreen challenged her parents and community into becoming the first young woman from Al Ghour  to work at a Hotel.

Now one of the best therapists at Zara Spa, Nisreen had a childhood dream of becoming a beautician. Her fascination in beauty and wellness became a reality when she joined Zara Spa and met people who shared the same interests as she did. She started taking training courses with the therapists and step by step, learned all there is to know about skin types, international treatments and techniques until she became a certified therapist and reached her goal.

The best part of Nisreen’s job as she says is that at the Spa, she feels like she can sit still while the whole world  buzzes around her. She also enjoys meeting new people and getting introduced to different nationalities and lifestyles.   When asked what she would change in her career, Nisreen says that the hotel has become a part of her identity and she cannot imagine being elsewhere.

" My advice to young woman, especially where I live, and to all the coming generations, is to aim high and love what you do, this is the only way you will reach your goal."

Nisreen tells us a story about the famous actor Omar Al Sharif when he visited the Hotel a few years back. She remembers the humility of this famous actor as she offered him a locker for his belongings before she gave him a tour and was delighted that he insisted on leaving his stuff on the floor of the Spa while saying that he feels at home in Jordan.
